Reinvent Yourself: 2014 Back to School Series

10 Ways to Change Your Look

Been wanting to reinvent yourself for the new school?
But don't know where to start?
Here are a few ways:

1.) Part your Hair Differently
Have you Been parting your hair the same way for a Long time?
Maybe its time for a change?
A simple change can be just flipping you hair to the other side of your head.
This can increase volume at the roots and change the way the front sections of your hair frame your face.

2.) Change your Hair All Together
Try a new Hair Color or a New Hair Cut, Coco Chanel once said that if a Girl cuts her Hair is about to change her World.
But if you are too scared to go with something permanent, try a some clip-in extensions or a really good deep conditioning treatment.
Mix some oils from your kitchen(I like olive oil or Coconut Oil) together.

3.)Different Makeup
Go a complete 180 degrees with your makeup.
Always wear shimmer eye shadow? Try a complete Matte Look.
Try red lips or get a stronger brow game.
Just step out of your comfort zone and try something new
not just with your makeup but with your style or your hair.

4.) A new Manicure
Always get a french tip, try all black nail or all white nails.
Try a matte nails or gel nails.
Cut your nails shorter or grow them longer.
Again try something new.

5.) New Accessories
If you always wear silver jewelry, go all gold. Or wear both at the same time.
Get a new signature perfume or mix the some perfumes together.
Get a new bag or watch.
Or just switch them a few times a month.

Long Hair

Want Long Hair?
By: A
waves.

I'm pretty sure everyone, at least once in their life, has wanted long healthy hair.
So if you want healthy, shinny, long hair Here are a few ways to do so.

Always Rinse with Cold Water and Wash with Lukewarm Water
Even though it doesn't feel very nice, especially after a shot shower.
But it will seal the Hair Shaft and Cuticle. Washing your hair with boiling hot water, is as bad for your hair as using heat tools. So minimize the damage by just washing your hair with Lukewarm Water and
rinse with cold water to seal the moisture and cuticle.

Heat Protectant!
If you want to use heat on your hair, always use a Heat Protectant.
I don't care what your excuse is always use one!
It creates a barrier between the curling iron or the straightener and tour Hair. It limits the amount of damage to your hair.

Diet
"You are what you eat." In this case, its true.
Introduce more Biotin, Iron, Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Zinc, & Potassium: for more hair growth, healthier, shiner hair. Water, too!
Drink at least 8 glasses of water every day. Eat Oranges, Strawberries, Bananas, Salmon, Spinach, almonds, apricots, and eggs.
Not only will it help your hair but your skin, too! Two Birds with one Stone.

Stimulation to the Scalp
It brings blood and circulation to the Scalp which will help it grow.
You can simply flip your hair upside down or just massage your scalp for at least 2 minutes.
Piece of Cake.

No more Stress!
Stress takes a toll on your body, especially your hair. So calm down!
It causes your hair to fall out, so not cool.
Sleep more, take a relaxing bath, get a massage just relax!

What Saved my Hair

What Saved my Hair?

I went through a really bad stage with my hair. I wasn't treating my hair correctly. My hair was really dried out and frizzy. I was putting a toll on my hair.
I was straightening my hair every day, washing my hair every night, & sleeping with my hair in tight ponytails. I had also cut my hair from past my ribs to my about my collar bone with layers. I had always medium length hair that was straight. After I had cut my hair, my hair was too short my liking and was super frizzy and annoying.

So I went on to Youtube and searched for ways to grow my hair out and to salvage my damaged hair. I got some pretty good answers. These are the steps I took to help my hair.

1.) Stop washing your hair everyday.
"Hair is Fiber. Think of it as wool. The more you wash it the worst it's going to look."
Try to go from washing your hair everyday to every other day. Then try washing your hair every other day to washing your every 2-3 days. But depending on your hair type, your scalp, & hair texture, it's up to you how often should you be washing my hair. And in-between washes you can use dry-shampoo or what I prefer: baby powder, if you have an oily scalp.

2.) Stop using Heat
Heat( such as blow dryers, curling irons, or flat irons) is horrible for your hair. Heat tools take moisture out of your hair. That how the curling irons make your hair curly or how flat irons straighten your hair. So limit your heat use or better don't use heat at all. And alway use heat protectant. Heat Protect creates a barrier between the hair and the hot tool. I went a whole 5 months without heat and I really saw a difference.

3.)  Don't use Chemicals on your hair
Limit or even better stop putting Chemical on your hair. It's  terrible for your hair. So slow down on chemically straightening your hair or dying your hair.

4.) 'Dusting' or A Trim
Dusting is when you go through-out hair and cutting off your split ends. Split ends are deadly. The move up the shaft making your hair shorter, so even if your hair is growing the ends won't maintain because of the split ends.
Or if your too lazy to go throughout your hair and look at each strand for split ends, just go and cut off an inch to get rid of most of the split ends.

5.) Hair Masks(A God's Send)
I saw the most difference with Hair Mask. If your really struggling with frizzy, dull, and dry hair a really great Hair is what you need. I love the Macademia Deep Repair it helps so much. I love it smells amazing and it's the only  hair product where the scent stays in my hair. I love it.

I also love making my own at home. One of my Favorites is 1 egg and 2-3 Table Spoons of Oliver Oil. This masks makes my hair so shiny and silky.

6.) Coconut Oil
This Oil is amazing. This product is what saved my hair. I buy mine at Walmart, it's very inexpensive and really effective. I apply it from Root to Ends and leave it in for at least an hour. Then I wash and condition. Coconut Oil has lots of Protein in it, and your hair is made of Protein. So its really good for your hair. But don't use it too much. Too much Protein is bad for your hair, so moderation is key.

A few tips for bigger lashes.

Tip #1: Apply Mascara in front of a Fan.
This makes the Mascara dry faster and there fore not clump up.

Tip #2: Put Baby Powder on lashes after 1st Coat of Mascara.
This will make your eye lashes look like Falsies. The Baby Powder thickens your lashes. You can also use Mineral Powder.

Tip #3: Heat up your Eyelash Curler.
You should always curl your eyelashes before you put mascara on. It really opens up the eye and heating up the Eyelash Curler takes it one stage further.

Tip #4: When your finished, brush your Lashes through with old(but clean) mascara brush.
Brush them through to get rid of any clumps, you can also purchase on from any makeup supply store.
